Advance Forest Management courses for middle/senior level IFS officers: 

Hitherto, these training courses were conducted in the Academy for officers having completed 9 years, 16 years d 21 years of service for  duration ranging from 3 weeks to 1 week.  Now these are proposed to be replaced by Mid Career Training programmes in three phases ie., phase III for officers with 7-9 years seniority, phase IV for officers with 16-18 years seniority and phase V for officers with 25-27 years seniority .  These trainings will be of eight weeks duration each for phase III and IV and 4 weeks duration in phase V including a two week foreign visit module to expose them  to the best practices/technical advancement taking place in the field of forestry /environment  outside the country.  Global tendering process for the same is on and it is expected to be finalized by April/May this year so as to commence these courses from Aug, 2009.
